Addison Mizner's Influence On Sea Island Architecture

A vintage post card of the original Cloister Hotel
designed by Addison Mizner in 1928.
Sea Island

is a barrier island off the Southern coast of Georgia and has been a resort destination dating back to the 1920's.  In 1928 Palm Beach architect Addison Mizner was commissioned to build the original Cloister Hotel.  Mizer is known for his Mediterranean Revival style and  his influence is evident in the architecture of many houses and buildings on Sea Island dating from the 1920's through today.  Below are a few of my favorite houses on Sea Island that look to be inspired by Mizner.
