Thom Filicia's Collection for Vanguard Furniture

Designer Thom Filicia photographed with pieces from his collection for Vanguard Furniture.  From the wall forward are Syracuse Etageres, Peek Hill Settee, Iroquois End Table and Eastwood Upholstered Spot.
Much like the jaw dropping interiors which have made Thom Filicia a household name, his collection for Vanguard Furniture is clean, sophisticated and surprises with unexpected shapes, textures and details.  Rich finishes such as polished nickel, grass cloth, teak, linen wrapping, and woven leather give each piece a custom made personality.  Here are a few of my top picks from Thom Filicia's collection:

The geometric nail head design along with leather wrapped doors and side panels add interest to the simple form of the "Lyn Acres Upholstered Chest".

I like that Filicia made the hanging hardware part of the design on the "Robineau Road Upholstered Mirror".

Round tables are nice for softening angular spaces and I love that the "Solcum Hall End Table" has a drawer.  The polished nickel drop pull looks solid and expensive.

The "Eastwood Upholstered Cocktail Ottoman" is my top pick from the collection.  The leather upholstery creates the perfect marriage between a substantial tabletop and the comfort of an ottoman.  The octagonal shape is a fun alternative to common square or round cocktail ottomans.

The contrast between the dark walnut frame and the white leather doors makes the "Durston Road Sideboard" really pop.

The leather strapping on teak makes for an exotic combo on the "Dewitt Cocktail Table".

The profile and use of leather on the "James Street Wing Chair" is reminiscent of a saddle.

Brass detailing adds interest to the "Hogue Lane Games Table".
