An exotic wall covering can instantly amplify a room, especially when architecture is lacking. In recent years, metallic wall coverings have made a come back and in some exciting ways. I like when glamorous gold, silver and bronze are woven into natural textures such as grass cloth, jute and shells. The mix is a fun and dressed up look for cork and raffia, which are often used in more casual settings. Here are a few that I can't wait to use!

Close up of "Mother Of Pearl Aphrodite" by Maya Romanoff shown on wall in first photo. Colorways from left to right are "Golden Pearl" and "Patina Abalone". This would make a stunning entry hall in a house by the ocean. |
The subtly shiny backgrounds lend elegance to these "Metallic Paper Weaves" by Phillip Jeffries Ltd. Colorways shown are 3513, 3514 and 3511. |
The gold background makes this check reflective and modern. "Interlace" by Weitzner. |
Innovations "Paperweave in Brass" would look gorgeous on walls, a ceiling or as the face of a cabinet. |
This gilded cork is rich in depth and color variation. I would use in a space that gets lots of natural sunshine since the tone and reflection change depending on the light. "Cork" in honey by Innovations. |
This interlocking design looks like raffia but is actually pulp made from Mulberry and Salago. If framed in glass, it would make a cool room divider. "Currents" by Weitzner. |
"Oracle" by Weitzner is made from tree bark and hand-gilded. The open fretwork allows for you to customize the look by layering the paper over surface painted in the color of your choice. |
